It is twilight. A deep blue sky presses down on the forest. The trees are getting darker, blue fades to black. Flitting between the trees, a bounding shadow with citrine eyes. It has to come closer.
So I can tell if it’s a dog. Or a wolf.
Based on the French expression for dusk, entre chien et loup.
